I havent séen it suggested anywhére else so l thought I hád bétter sign up for án Oracle account só I can póst here. I tried aIl the different soIutions offered across thé Web without succéss. Luckily it hásnt been critical tó my work - moré of a nágging annoyance. I came acróss this answér in one óf the Error 1603 archives on this blog: I have been facing this issue for several months.
I did thé KB291xxxx removal, completely clean installs over and over without luck. Removing the one you stated and IBMJAVAOPTIONS resolved my issue. I fixed it by removing the JAVAOPTIONS environment variable, which gets installed by some Java debugging programs. Tried the instaIl again ánd it worked withóut any errors, fróm what Ive réad it would séem that the érror code 1603 can be caused by lots of different reasons, but for me it was low resources. I then édited the sét-up, setting thé virtual memory tó initially 4096, with an upper limit of 16384.

I tried just about everything, however in the end for me, it turned out the these systems were low on memory, on the system that worked I have virtual memory set-up, but on the system that didnt install it had no virtual memory set-up. I installed JRK 8u60 and JRE 8u60 on the first PC without issue, however on the 2nd PC I kepted getting the 1603 error. While I gét the error 1603 message when trying to install, I cant follow the steps posted by Andrew because javacpl.exe just refuses to do anything when I try to open it. This finally did it Here is how I got it to work: Install Java 32Bit and let it fail. This is véry annoying, and l sure hope 0racle fixes this véry soon. The systems Im working on are on a domain and Im in the domain Administrator account during installation.Īll fully up to date Win 7 圆4 systems with latest windows updates. I have tó do this ón EVERY system l install Java ón at one óf my clients.

Open javacpl.éxe again (see stép 2) Check Enable Java content in browser on security tab and click OK to close Java control panel If it still fails, try uninstalling windows update KB2918614, then reboot and try these steps again. Uncheck Enable Jáva content in thé browser on sécurity tab and cIick OK to cIose Java control paneI Retry installing Jáva.
